This site contains the work of author Echan Deravy a.k.a J.C. Gabriel. On the blog here you can read excerpts from the upcoming book Japanthropologist as well as some articles on Japan. The book was translated for Japanese publication in 2011.
Echan is one of a new breed, a Japanthropologist. Imagine being embedded in a very different culture for over three and a half decades. More importantly perhaps, what might that discovery have to do with the current world situation and the plethora of 2012 prophecies now assaulting our media?

The Japanthropologist novel is entirely based on extensive experience. It is faction, sharing with the reader an insider story that is literally mind boggling.

Echan, has written and translated 29 books. He was asked by members of a certain faction of the Japanese underworld to make a film about 2012. That became the basis for the novel.

This is his first novel. It is literally ‘from inside’ the rising sun. Think of him as an embedded cultural spy-a Japanthropologist in fact.
